  • Can anyone become a member?

    Membership is open to anyone at least 21 years of age who possesses a valid driver's license. All new members are required to complete a NASBLA-approved Safe Boater Certificate and complete our New Member Orientation on the water with one of our U.S. Coast Guard-licensed Captains prior to making any reservations.
  • Where are the Michigan locations?

    There are currently 12 locations in Michigan with West Michigan members enjoying unlimited access to Grand Haven and Muskegon, as well as reciprocal access to: Algonac, Bay City, Detroit, Harrison Township, Gun Lake, Holland, Saugatuck, South Haven, St. Claire Shores, and St. Joseph.
  • Can I become a member with no boating experience?

    Yes! With our unlimited free training from our U.S. Coast Guard-licensed Captains on staff, we’ll make sure you are comfortable and ready to enjoy everything boating has to offer.
  • How do I reserve a boat?

    Reserving a boat is easy! With Freedom Boat Club, you can make a reservation at any time using your mobile phone, tablet, desktop, or any other internet-connected device through either our reservation website or the NEW Freedom Boat Club App. All you need to do is pick a location, time, and boat, then we’ll see you on the water!
  • Can I make a last-minute decision to use a boat?

    Absolutely! Our members enjoy unlimited spur-of-the-moment use and are welcome to use any available boats.
  • Is there a limit to how many times I can reserve a boat?

    Our members enjoy unlimited usage at our home locations, Grand Haven and Muskegon, as well as up to four times a year at EVERY reciprocal location.
